Project Hope Youth Empowerment Assembly & Backpack Drive

The Project Hope Youth Empowerment Assembly brought over 300 5th and 6th grade students from several towns within the Ijero local government area in Ekiti State, Nigeria together to receive encouraging messages of hope from professionals who had similar background but achieved success with hope, hard work, and the grace of God. Students received lunch, backpacks, and notebooks. Teachers received a small stipend as a token of appreciation. The event successfully empowered students to dream big an hope huge about how they can realize a brighter future through education.

Project Hope Essay Competition & Reading Challenge

The Deleawe Foundation launched an essay competition among 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students at Ipoti Community Secondary School and Ipoti High School in Ipoti Ekiti were challenged to identify a problem in their community/environment (such as technical, environmental, or health challenges) and write a 2 page essay about how they would solve it. The top 3 essays will receive a cash prize with 1st place receiving 10,000 N, 2nd place receiving 7,500 N, and 3rd place 5,000 N. The Foundation also donated hundreds of fiction and non-fiction books to each school and launched a reading competition with the top students receiving a cash scholarship prize at the end of the semester.

Scholarship & Community Empowerment

Since 2013, the Deleawe Foundation has sponsored over $50,000 in college tuition fees through about 100 annual scholarships in 2 LGDAs of Ekiti, Nigeria, sponsored High School exit exams registration (WAEC & NECO) for over 200 students, and helped launch over small businesses by supplying equipment for artisans to operate after learning a trade.
